Advocate Dhami Strongly Condemns Killing of Sikh Couple at Gurdwara Sahib in Mardan, Pakistan
Amritsar, June 17 Kanwarpartap Singh
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the killing of a Sikh couple, Shri Jagannath and Bibi Asma Wanti, who were serving at a Gurdwara Sahib in Mardan city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The couple was reportedly shot dead by unidentified individuals.
Advocate Dhami stated that entering a sacred religious place like a Gurdwara Sahib and murdering an innocent Sikh couple is a deeply tragic, inhumane act that creates fear among minority communities. He said the horrific attack has raised serious concerns regarding the safety and security of the Sikh community living in Pakistan.
He urged the Government of Pakistan to arrest the perpetrators at the earliest and ensure they receive strict punishment. He emphasized that ensuring the protection of Sikh religious sites and minority communities, including Sikhs living in Pakistan, is the responsibility of the Pakistani government and requires immediate attention.
Expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, Advocate Dhami prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls and strength for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
