During his visit to the United Kingdom, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, attended a Gurmat Samagam (congregation) organised by the management committee of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Southall, with the support of the Sikh congregation and youth on Saturday.
On the occasion, Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj also held a special meeting with office-bearers of the gurdwara management committee, during which discussions focused on the progress, unity and well-being of the Khalsa Panth, Punjab and the Sikh youth. The committee members presented several important suggestions, and Singh Sahib directed the gurdwara management and the Sikh thinkers present to submit these recommendations in writing with detailed explanations.
During the programme, S. Gurmail Singh Malhi, President of the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall management committee, and S. Manjit Singh, Stage Secretary, welcomed Jathedar Gargajj on his arrival in the UK. They also appreciated the services being rendered by Jathedar Gargajj.

Addressing the congregation, Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said that gurdwaras are places that unite Sikhs, where they come together in fellowship and strengthen their spiritual bond with the Guru. He urged the community to involve the younger generation more actively in gurdwaras by providing them with opportunities to participate in religious and community service.
He said that despite settling in the United Kingdom, Sikhs and Punjabis have made significant contributions to the development of both the UK and Punjab. He added that it is the responsibility of every Sikh and Punjabi to remain connected with their roots in Punjab and to visit the state every year or two, making it a point to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib and Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib.
Jathedar Gargajj encouraged Sikh youth to study their history and shape their lives according to its teachings. He said the enthusiastic participation of young people in the programme reflected their deep love and devotion towards the Guru. Stressing the need for unity, he urged Sikhs to rise above internal divisions and work collectively for the welfare of the Panth. He also emphasised the importance of understanding the Sikh principle of Miri-Piri and strengthening both the Panth and Punjab in accordance with its ideals.
He further advised Sikhs in the UK to donate wisely and ensure that financial assistance sent from abroad reaches genuinely deserving people in Punjab directly.
Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj also urged Sikhs to remain vigilant against what he described as conspiracies aimed at weakening the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex Sikh religious body. He said the SGPC is a unique institution established through the sacrifices of Sikh martyrs and that attempts are being made to weaken and divide it. He added that efforts would be made to strengthen the connection of Sikhs across the world with Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the SGPC, while ensuring greater global Sikh representation.
He further said that whenever Punjab or the Sikh Panth has faced challenges, Sikhs and Punjabis living abroad have always made generous contributions in the spirit of Sarbat da Bhala (the welfare of all) and Chardi Kala (ever-rising optimism).

The management committee of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall honoured Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj with a siropao (robe of honour) and a commemorative memento.
Among those present on the occasion were Vice President Harjit Singh Sarpanch, General Secretaries Sharanbir Singh Sangha and Surinder Singh Dhatt, Stage Secretaries Manjit Singh and Satnam Singh Chauhan, Jaskaran Singh Media Adviser and prominent members Sukhdeep Singh Randhawa, Manpreet Singh Badhni Kalan, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi, Gursharan Singh Mand, Bibi Sarabjit Kaur, Sarabjit Singh, along with other members of the Sikh community.
