Sikh Delegation from Peshawar Meets ETPB Officials Over Restoration of Historic Gurdwaras

Discussion Focuses on Renovation and Restoration of Bhai Beeba Singh and Bhai Joga Singh Gurdwaras in Peshawar

A Sikh delegation from Peshawar, led by former president of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sardar Bishan Singh, met with Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Additional Secretary (Shrines) Naseer Mushtaq at the ETPB head office in Lahore. Deputy Secretary (Shrines) Fraz Abbas was also present on the occasion.
The delegation included Sardar Sarabat Singh, Sardar Makhan Singh, Sardar Harmeet Singh, Sardar Mahender Singh, Sardar Wazir Singh, Sardar Jaswant Singh, Sardar Samandar Singh, Sardar Narainjan Singh, Sardar Avtar Singh, and others.
During the meeting, the delegation presented various proposals regarding the renovation, restoration, decoration, and other essential matters related to the historic Gurdwara Bhai Beeba Singh and Gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh in Peshawar, emphasizing the need to improve their condition.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Secretary Naseer Mushtaq stated that the Evacuee Trust Property Board is taking practical steps for the construction, repair, and development of minority places of worship across the country, particularly Sikh gurdwaras. He said that the proposals received for the decoration and improvement of facilities at the Peshawar gurdwaras would be reviewed in detail, and steps would be taken on a priority basis within the available resources.
Naseer Mushtaq reiterated the commitment that the Government of Pakistan and the Evacuee Trust Property Board would continue to play a full role in the protection, restoration, and maintenance of minority religious sites in their original state.
