Religious Harmony Shines as Hindu Devotees Observe Baba Bankhandi Maharaj Anniversary in Sukkur

The 162nd death anniversary of revered Hindu saint Baba Bankhandi Maharaj was observed with religious fervor at the historic Shri Sadhu Bela Tirth Asthan in Sukkur. The three-day celebrations concluded on a spiritual note, drawing thousands of devotees from across Pakistan.

The event commenced with the offering of flowers on Baba’s idol by Shri Krishna Sharma, Pradhan of the Pakistan Hindu Temple Management Committee, under the Government of Pakistan. Sacred rituals such as Hun Puja, Arnab, Aarti, Behrana Sahib, and Bhog Sahib were performed during the festivities.

The celebrations were coordinated under the supervision of Diwan Chand Chawla, Secretary of the Temple Committee, with administrative support from Saifullah Khokhar, Additional Secretary of the Shrines Branch, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). He was joined by Ali Asghar, Deputy Secretary, and Imtiaz Mirani.

On the occasion, special prayers were offered for the peace, security, and prosperity of Pakistan.

While speaking to media representatives, Krishna Sharma expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and the ETPB for their financial and administrative support. He highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to religious freedom and minority rights, stating that Hindu communities continue to celebrate their religious festivals with full freedom and respect.

The event served as a symbol of interfaith harmony, showcasing Pakistan’s inclusive approach toward its religious minorities.
