PM Shehbaz Sharif Meets Nurse Who Saved Newborn in PIMS Fire, Announces Tamgha-e-Khidmat
ISLAMABAD, September 3 — Nazrana Times Ali Imran Chattha 
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met nurse Razia Noreen, who risked her life to rescue a newborn during the PIMS fire incident, and praised her courage and dedication.
Speaking during the meeting, the Prime Minister said Razia Noreen placed her own life at risk to save the newborn and demonstrated exceptional bravery in a difficult situation. He said the entire nation was proud of her courage and recognized her service.
Shehbaz Sharif said that risking one's own life to save a newborn was a remarkable act of service. He said Razia Noreen's actions would be remembered and paid tribute to her for her courage.
The Prime Minister announced that Razia Noreen would be awarded the Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Medal of Service) on March 23 in recognition of her services. He also presented her with a cheque of Rs. 10 million, saying the amount was intended as encouragement and recognition for her efforts.

Nurse Recalls Rescue During PIMS Fire
Razia Noreen briefed the Prime Minister about the fire and the circumstances in which she rescued the newborn baby girl, Asifa.
She said that after seeing the fire, she entered the affected area without regard for her own safety and rescued the baby. She handed the child to Dr. Abdur Rehman so that she could be kept safe amid the emergency and rush.
Razia Noreen said she also attempted to rescue other children, but the rapidly spreading fire made further rescue efforts difficult. She recalled that the area quickly became dark and filled with smoke.
The nurse expressed appreciation for the recognition and said her fellow nurses also perform their duties with dedication and hard work.

PM Orders Action Over PIMS Fire
The Prime Minister described the PIMS fire as a deeply tragic incident and said strict action would be taken against those found responsible.
The Ministry of Health has also been directed to improve facilities and address issues at PIMS Hospital.
Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar were also present during the meeting.
