Karamat Ali Sheikh,Secretary General of MQM (Pakistan) for Punjab, has called for the creation of new provinces in Punjab on administrative grounds. Citing examples like Iran, Turkey, and Malaysia, which function with numerous smaller provinces, he argued that Punjab's massive population of over 120 million makes balanced development and service delivery impossible. He warned that failure to establish new administrative units would create severe problems for future generations and urged the government to take serious action on the matter.
