World Sikh Parliament Condemns Rejection of Prof. Bhullar's Release

Frankfurt - Nazrana Times Bureau

The World Sikh Parliament, through its Coordinator Bhai Himmat Singh (America), Co-Coordinator Bhai Gurcharan Singh Guraiya (Germany), Chief Spokesperson Bhai Joga Singh, General Secretary Bhai Manpreet Singh (England), Bhai Jatinder Singh, Bhai Manbeer Singh (Canada), Bhai Pritpal Singh (Switzerland), Harjot Singh (Holland), and Bhai Satnam Singh (France), issued a joint press statement strongly condemning the Delhi BJP-led government's Sentence Review Board decision to reject the permanent release plea of prisoner Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar.
They described the decision as a grave violation of human rights and clear evidence of the right-wing Hindutva government's hateful and vengeful policy toward Sikhs.
Government documents reveal that the board granted release to 24 convicts who had not even served 20 years, while keeping Prof. Bhullar—who has endured over 30 years in jail and old age—in continued imprisonment, proving that the law treats Sikhs differently and amounts to direct discrimination. The World Sikh Parliament asserts that ruling parties exploit Sikhs only for political gains and votes, subjecting them to injustice and persecution when fairness is demanded. It sharply criticizes Sikh figures, religious leaders, and politicians who betray the community by aligning with the anti-Sikh BJP, exposing their true faces through silence on this ruling despite past promises to secure prisoner releases.
The Parliament appeals to the global Sikh community to raise its voice internationally against this injustice, vowing to expose India's anti-Sikh stance at the United Nations and human rights organizations until Prof. Bhullar and all Sikh prisoners are freed, urging unity to confront the oppressive regime.
