Condolence Reference Held at Nolakha Presbyterian Church on the Demise of Mother of Rev. Dr. Majid Abel

A condolence reference was held at Nolakha Presbyterian Church, Lahore, on the sad demise of the respected mother of renowned Christian leader Rev. Dr. Majid Abel. Religious scholars, interfaith leaders, and prominent political and social figures from various walks of life participated in the gathering and offered prayers for the forgiveness of the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family. While addressing the condolence reference, Rev. Dr. Majid Abel paid rich tribute to his mother’s religious, moral and social services, stating that she spent her life with patience, tolerance, love and a strong spirit of serving humanity.[FACTBOX]
Chairman All Sects Board, Maulana Asim Makhdoom, expressed deep sorrow over the demise and said that promoting interfaith harmony and brotherhood is the need of the hour. He added that such occasions remind us to share each other’s grief and that all religions convey the message of humanity, love and peace. Secretary General, UIO Javed William, said that through her character and upbringing, the late mother of Rev. Dr. Majid Abel set a positive example not only for her family but also for society. He emphasized that Pakistan has a strong tradition of interfaith harmony and such gatherings further strengthen this tradition.
Professor Dr. Badar Munir stated that respect and service to parents hold fundamental importance in all religions and the loss of a mother is an irreparable one. He prayed that Almighty God grant the departed soul a place in eternal peace and bless the family with patience.
Other speakers including Father James Channan, Father Basharat, Father Asif, Dr. Saqib, political leader Saleem Bhatti, Victor Khan, and Pastor Emmanuel Khokhar also expressed their views and condolences. At the end, Father James Channan led a special prayer for the departed soul.
