Helicopter Providing Security for Corps Commander’s Visit Crashes in Chilas

A helicopter belonging to the Force Command Northern Areas (FCNA) crashed in Chilas on Thursday while providing aerial security for the Corps Commander’s visit to the Hodur area.

According to officials, two Army officers, one Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), and two Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) were killed in the incident. No survivors were reported.

In the aftermath of the crash, the Karakoram Highway (KKH) was blocked, and joint teams of the Army and Police began conducting extensive vehicle inspections in the region.

Authorities have not released the cause of the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.
