On the special direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the water drainage process at Kartarpur Gurdwara was completed within a few hours. Every part of Kartarpur Janm Asthan, including Darshan Deori, was thoroughly cleaned. Workers of Suthra Punjab and other officials worked day and night to restore the Gurdwara to its original condition.

On CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s orders, the Deputy Commissioner of Nankana Sahib personally supervised the cleaning operation and ensured that floodwater was drained out from the vast courtyard of the holy site.

The Chief Minister further directed that Kartarpur Gurdwara should be reopened for Sikh pilgrims within the next three to four days. During the floods, water levels had risen up to 10–12 feet inside the premises. Rescue teams used motorboats to safely evacuate Sikh pilgrims and shift them to secure locations.

The management committee of Kartarpur Gurdwara and community members expressed relief and surprise to see the revered Sikh holy site completely drained and restored in such a short time.
