Iran Sends New Peace Proposal to U.S. via Pakistan

Pakistan ISLAMABAD, NazranaTimes Ali Imran Chatth
Iran has delivered a fresh peace proposal to the United States through Pakistani intermediaries, officials confirmed Thursday, as diplomatic efforts intensify to de-escalate the conflict.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said it is facilitating communication between the two sides but is not a party to the negotiations. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said ending the war and establishing lasting peace are Tehran’s priorities.
The new proposal prioritizes resolving the crisis over the Strait of Hormuz and the U.S. naval blockade, deferring nuclear negotiations to a later stage. A ceasefire would be extended or made permanent once the strait reopens.
U.S. President Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the proposal, warning that his options are now a major military escalation or a deal. Washington continues to demand Iran halt its nuclear program and ballistic missile work, with phased sanctions relief tied to compliance – a formula Tehran has repeatedly rejected.
The second round of planned Islamabad talks collapsed earlier after Iran’s foreign minister abruptly departed. Washington then canceled its delegation’s visit.
The Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed, pushing U.S. fuel prices to their highest since July 2022.
