Jathedar Gargajj Engages with Sikh Youth in Auckland, Emphasizes Unity, Education, and Gurmat Values

Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, held a special interaction of nearly one and a half hours with Sikh youth at Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib, Takanini, in Auckland, New Zealand. During the session organised by New Zealand Sikh Youth, the youth raised questions regarding Sikh institutions, narratives being created against Sikhs, maryada (code of conduct), Gurmat (Guru’s wisdom) education, and religious preaching, which were answered by the Jathedar.

Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj expressed happiness that Sikh youth are highly aware and concerned about their religion and institutions. He said that Sikh youth in New Zealand are engaged in progressive and positive activities and expressed hope that they will continue to serve in accordance with Gurmat principles.
The Jathedar advised the youth to pursue education, achieve respectable positions, and contribute to the upliftment of the community. He also urged them to live in unity, support one another, learn Gurmukhi Punjabi, and maintain the distinct Sikh identity.

On this occasion, Jathedar Gargaj also administered a pledge to some Sikh youths who had cut their hair, urging them to maintain the complete Sikh identity.
During the gathering, the youth also honoured Jathedar Gargajj. Among those present were Daljit Singh, President of the New Zealand Central Sikh Association; Gurnam Singh, Pahulpreet Kaur, Gurleen Kaur, Supinder Kaur, Preeti Kaur, Agamjot Kaur representing New Zealand Sikh Youth; and Jaskaran Singh, Media Advisor, among others.
