First Nagar Kirtan in Dresden on August 24; Preparations Complete, Great Enthusiasm Among Sangat — Baljit Singh Bhullar

LEIPZIG, August 22 (Nazrana Times): With the immense blessings of Akal Purakh, preparations have been completed for the first Nagar Kirtan to be held in Dresden, the capital of the German state of Saxony, on Monday, August 24, 2026. The Sikh community is showing great enthusiasm for the historic event, which will showcase the spirit and splendour of the Khalsa tradition.

The Nagar Kirtan is being organised by Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar Dresden, with the cooperation of Sikh congregations and Gurdwara management committees from across eastern Germany. It will be conducted under the guidance of the Panj Pyare and in the sacred presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Providing details, chief sewadar Bhai Baljit Singh Bhullar, Bhai Jagjit Singh Ramidi, Bhai Jatinder Singh Goraya, Ravisher Singh Punnu and other organisers said that all arrangements are being carried out with great devotion, enthusiasm and a spirit of seva.

Seven Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations are jointly supporting the event: Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar Dresden, Gurdwara Guru Ram Das Ji Dresden, Gurmat Parchar Leipzig, Gurdwara Singh Sabha Chemnitz, Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Teltow Berlin, Gurdwara Singh Sabha Berlin and Gurdwara Sarbat Da Bhala Erfurt.

The Nagar Kirtan will take place at Altmarkt Dresden on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The organisers have appealed to the Sikh Sangat to attend the Nagar Kirtan in large numbers along with their families and participate in the celebrations with devotion and reverence.

They also urged Sikh families and Sangat from across the region to join the historic gathering and seek the blessings of Guru Sahib.
