Pakistan Backs UN Charter as PM Shehbaz Hosts Michelle Bachelet

PM Sharif Welcomes Michelle Bachelet, Pledges Support for UN Charter & Development Agenda

UN Secretary General candidate Michelle Bachelet held high-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at PM House today, where Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to multilateralism and the central role of the UN in resolving global crises.

PM Sharif called for balanced progress across the UN's three pillars peace, development, and human rights while urging faithful implementation of international treaties and resolutions. He also stressed accelerated action on the global development agenda.
Bachelet, in turn, praised Pakistan's "historic and invaluable" contributions to UN peacekeeping and its ongoing efforts for regional stability. Deputy PM Ishaq Dar and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch also attended the meeting.
