World Bank President Visits Historic Buddhist Monastery in Haripur, Commends Preservation Efforts

World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, accompanied by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, visited the historic Julian Buddhist Monastery in Haripur on Monday.
The delegation toured the archaeological site, where President Banga expressed his satisfaction with its excellent state of preservation. He commended the efforts undertaken by Pakistani authorities for the conservation and promotion of this significant cultural heritage site.
The Julian Monastery, a relic of the ancient Gandhara civilization, is an important landmark showcasing Pakistan’s rich historical and religious diversity.
