Senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader and former Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan stated that a new world order is emerging which could last for the next 50 years, and it may not include the United States and its traditional allies.
He said the new global system would not allow any single leader to act unilaterally, adding that the idea of “I am Donald Trump and I can destroy any country I want” will no longer prevail.

He expressed these views while addressing a debate on Iran-US tensions organized by the Shaheed Bhutto Foundation at the People’s Secretariat Model Town. The session was moderated by SBF Chairperson Asif Khan, and attended by several political and social figures.

Aitzaz Ahsan said that the conflict in the Middle East, particularly involving Iran, will not only affect Gulf countries but the entire world. He emphasized that oil remains a crucial global commodity and rising conflicts will increase the demand for alternative energy sources like solar and wind power.

He further said that while Pakistan believes it has contained smaller conflicts, larger geopolitical tensions are ongoing. Referring to Afghanistan, he said history shows that military power alone cannot control the country, citing past interventions by Russia and the United States.
He stressed that nations, especially developing countries, must focus on their own national interests and carefully evaluate the costs of conflict.
