Akali leader calls Anmol Gagan Mann’s resignation a betrayal of Punjab’s people and a sign of AAP government’s collective failure

Shiromani Akali Dal’s senior leader and former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today, following the resignation of AAP MLA Anmol Gagan Mann from Khadoor Sahib constituency. Brahmpura termed the resignation not just an individual act, but a symbol of the AAP government’s complete failure.

Recalling AAP’s promises during the 2022 assembly elections, Brahmpura said, “These are the same leaders who used to confidently declare that they would provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) on every crop within five minutes of coming to power. Now, after two and a half years, there’s not even a trace of that promise being fulfilled. Farmers are still struggling, and instead of answering public questions, AAP leaders are fleeing the field by resigning.”

He further added that the resignation reflects the growing dissatisfaction even within AAP itself. “This isn’t just one MLA stepping down — it’s a reflection of the collective failure of the Bhagwant Mann government. Be it farmers' issues, employment for youth, or law and order — the government has failed on all fronts.”

Brahmpura asserted that resignations will not erase the false promises made to the people. “The people of Punjab had high hopes when they voted for AAP, but now they feel deceived. AAP leaders must answer for this betrayal. The Shiromani Akali Dal will continue to raise its voice for the rights of the people and hold those responsible accountable.”
