Punjab Requisitions Army for Flood Relief in Lodhran, Civil Defense Leads Evacuations

The Punjab Home Department has requisitioned the Pakistan Army to assist in relief operations in Lodhran following widespread flooding in several districts of Punjab. Army troops have already been deployed in Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Narowal, Okara, Sargodha, and Hafizabad to aid the district administrations and safeguard human lives.
According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department, the provincial government’s rescue and relief efforts are ongoing with the support of the district administration, PDMA, Civil Defense, Rescue Services, and Police, who are working round-the-clock in flood-hit areas.
The spokesperson highlighted that more than 9,000 Civil Defense volunteers are engaged in relief operations across Punjab, ensuring safe relocation of people and their livestock to secure locations. Relief camps established by Civil Defense Punjab remain operational 24/7 to facilitate displaced families.
“Civil Defense Punjab is standing shoulder to shoulder with citizens during this testing time,” the spokesperson said, adding that all possible measures are being taken to protect lives and property. Citizens have been urged to extend full cooperation to the administration to ensure effective rescue and relief operations.
