As part of the 350th martyrdom anniversary commemorations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) organized a Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan which, after commencing from Gurdwara Dhobri Sahib (Assam), today departed from Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, T.P. Nagar (Korba) towards Gurdwara Sahib, Modipara (Sambalpur, Odisha).

Before departure, a special divan was held at the gurdwara, where hazuri raagi jatha of Sri Darbar Sahib recited Gurbani Kirtan. Giani Rajdeep Singh, granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib, shared vichar (sermons) on the Gurbani uttered by the Ninth Guru and recounted episodes from his life history.

At various stops, devotees from different faiths enthusiastically welcomed the Nagar Kirtan and showered flower petals on the palki of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as a mark of reverence.

On this occasion, several SGPC officials and Sikh mission leaders from Chhattisgarh and Jammu & Kashmir, along with local committee members of Korba, were present.
