NAB Lahore Reports Significant Recoveries, Case Progress and Public Relief

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has released its performance report covering the period from January 1 to April 30 2026, achieved under the supervision of Director General NAB Lahore, Mirza Faran Baig and in accordance with directives issued by Chairman NAB, Lieutenant General (R) Nazir Ahmed. The details reflect enforcement actions, case development and restitution measures accomplished during the period.
Public Complaints and Case Processing
During first four months of 2026, NAB Lahore addressed 4020 public complaints, initiating enforcement proceedings in accordance with the law. After preliminary verification, 30 new inquiries were authorized reflecting progress of cases within the legal framework. Enforcement actions resulted in 08 arrests in cheating public at large and high- profile cases during the reporting period, in accordance with due process and legal provisions. In addition, four monthly Open Public Hearings were held at the end of each month under the supervision of the Director General, ensuring timely redressal of public complaints.
Asset Recovery and State Land Resumption
As part of asset recovery efforts, 13 properties were restrained under court orders to prevent their transfer or disposal during proceedings. In parallel, NAB Lahore completed the mutation of 3,527 kanal of state land into official records, with market value of Rs. 111.7 billion which falls in the districts of Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur and Jhang. The recovered land is duly recorded and secured under state ownership.
Public Restitution and Financial Recoveries
In terms of public restitution, 977 affectees were compensated during the period, with verified disbursements of Rs. 257 million against established claims. Additionally, NAB Lahore secured cash recoveries of Rs. 617 million in different cases.
Capacity Building and Awareness Initiatives
Beyond enforcement, NAB Lahore conducted 03 awareness seminars in different educational institutions aimed at community engagement as well as informing stakeholders about complaint mechanisms and corruption risks. Further, 10 training sessions were organized to enhance investigative and procedural capacity of officers within the Bureau. These activities contribute to both public engagement and institutional effectiveness.
Under the supervision of Director General Mirza Faran Baig, NAB Lahore continues to pursue its mandate of accountability, recovery of public assets and timely redressal of grievances in accordance with the law.
