Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) last night for a follow-up eye examination and treatment, after which he was discharged back to Adiala Jail.
The 74-year-old incarcerated leader received his 5th anti-VEGF intravitreal injection in his right eye to treat Central Retinal Vein Occlusion. Prior to the injection, doctors conducted an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) test, which showed significant improvement in his condition.

Hospital administration officials stated that the procedure was carried out as a day-care surgery under microscopic guidance, with standard precautions and the patient's written consent. Khan remained medically stable throughout the process.
Following the injection, he was discharged with medical instructions and advised to return for a repeat examination after a few days. He was then transferred back to Adiala Jail.
This was the fifth phase of his ongoing eye treatment, which first began on January 24. The previous injection was administered on April 28.
