Punjab Announces Waterfowl Hunting Season from October 1

The Punjab government has announced the waterfowl hunting season from October 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, allowing hunting only on Saturdays and Sundays with a valid shooting permit.
According to the government announcement, hunting of all kinds will remain prohibited in protected areas across Punjab. Hunters will be required to follow the prescribed limits under the Punjab Wildlife Act.
Hunting from vehicles will also be prohibited, while hunters will not be permitted to cause damage to crops or private property.
Wildlife officials have been directed to closely monitor hunting hotspots across the province and ensure that all prescribed rules and regulations are followed.
