Trump’s Endorsement for Cuomo Shakes Up New York Mayoral Election 2025

Today marks one of the most historic mayoral elections in New York’s history. Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani is facing off against Andrew Cuomo, who, after losing the Democratic primary to Mamdani, decided to run as an independent. Also in the race is Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
All major polls have projected a decisive victory for Mamdani. However, the race took an unexpected turn when Republican President Donald Trump publicly urged his supporters to vote for Cuomo instead of the Republican candidate, Sliwa.
While many believe Mamdani’s win is inevitable, I remain skeptical. I’m following this election closely as an independent observer, without letting any religious or ethnic bias influence my perspective.
