Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Punjab, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, has stated that the Punjab government is taking practical steps to protect human rights, promote religious harmony, and foster social inclusion. He said that providing all citizens with equal rights, dignity, justice, and equal opportunities for development, without discrimination, is among the government's primary priorities. The welfare of minority communities, economic empowerment, and increased access to education and employment opportunities are key components of the government's vision.

He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural consultative session of the "Human Rights Governance Project," organized by the Human Friends Organization (HFO) in collaboration with the Department of Human Rights and Minority Affairs, Government of Punjab.
The Provincial Minister appreciated the role of civil society in promoting human rights and establishing social harmony, stating that effective cooperation between the government and non-governmental organizations is essential to ensure the creation of a society where every individual's fundamental rights and human dignity are respected.
He further said that strong collaborative action between government institutions and civil society is indispensable for the promotion of human rights. He emphasized that all relevant stakeholders must play a collective role for the effective implementation of human rights policies and the achievement of sustainable outcomes.
The event was attended by Provincial Secretary of the Department of Human Rights and Minority Affairs, Dr. Usman Ali Khan; former Provincial Minister and Member of Punjab Assembly, Ijaz Alam Augustine; MPAs Syeda Sumreen Taj, Maria Talal, Faza Memoona, Rukhsana Shafiq, Uzma Kardar; Asifa Khan; Dr. Majeed Abel; Maulana Asim Makhdoom; Catherine Sapna; Asher Sarfaraz; Muhammad Yousuf; and other prominent figures from various walks of life. A large number of government department officials, civil society representatives, human rights activists, religious leaders, and journalists were also present.

The participants of the event described the project as a significant step toward the protection of human rights, the promotion of social harmony, and the provision of equal opportunities for all citizens, and expressed their commitment to extending full cooperation.
The Human Friends Organization reaffirmed its commitment to continue its efforts, in collaboration with the government, civil society, and other partner institutions, for the promotion of human dignity, fundamental rights, and a just and inclusive society.
