Two Killed in Shooting Outside Sikh Temple in Italy

Italy/Bergamo - Two men were tragically killed after an unknown attacker opened fire outside a Sikh place of worship in Covo, a town in the Bergamo province of Italy.
According to the Carabinieri police, the attackers arrived in a car and targeted the victims, who had just stepped out of a warehouse being used as a temple. The incident took place around midnight on Friday, April 17.
The victims, both of Indian origin, were residents of nearby areas—Covo and Agnadello. After carrying out the attack, the suspect fled the scene by car.
The shooting has deeply shocked the local community, especially as the temple was preparing to celebrate Vaisakhi on April 18, one of the most important festivals for Sikhs.
Mayor Andrea Cappelleti expressed his shock, stating that the Indian community in the area has always been peaceful and well-integrated. Locals also mentioned that the suspected attacker was known to visit the temple regularly and had minor disagreements in the past, but nothing that hinted at such a violent outcome.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
