Hassan Abdal – Hundreds of Sikh pilgrims from India, on a 10-day spiritual journey facilitated by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, performed heartfelt rituals at the revered Gurdwara Panja Sahib.
Overwhelmed by the seamless arrangements and genuine warmth, the devotees showered praise on the Government of Pakistan and ETPB. “Pakistan has truly touched our hearts—we feel the same love, peace, and comfort here as we do at home,” they shared. Highlighting the meticulous upkeep of sacred sites, they added, “Pakistan’s respectful preservation of our Gurdwaras fills the global Sikh community with immense pride.”
In an emotional moment, one pilgrim declared, “We came to the abode of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, yet the affection and care extended here embody the purest essence of humanity.”
Mr. Nasir Mushtaq, Additional Secretary Shrines, ETPB, reaffirmed unwavering commitment: “Pakistan cherishes its profound spiritual and cultural ties with the Sikh community. This legacy of respect and hospitality will endure.”
A pinnacle of Sikh sanctity, Gurdwara Panja Sahib immortalizes Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s miracle—placing his hand on a rock to unleash a life-giving spring amid drought. The sacred stone, etched with his handprint (Panja), remains a global magnet for the faithful.
The pilgrimage caravan now heads to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, followed by Gurdwara Rohri Sahib in Eminabad, before reaching Lahore on November 10.
