Punjab Law Minister Inaugurates Lahore Pilot Project of AI-Based Litigation Management System Under CM Maryam Nawaz’s Digital Governance Initiative

Lahore (Nazrana Times) — November 6:

Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, inaugurated the Lahore Pilot Project of the Directorate of Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) — a key component of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s flagship Digital Governance Program. The ceremony took place at the Law Department and was attended by Parliamentary Secretary Ahmed Nawaz Ranjha, Chairman Standing Committee/MPA Malik Nosher Langrial, Secretary Law Asif Bilal Lodhi, and Secretary Housing Noorul Amin Mangal.
During the briefing, the Secretary Law informed that the DME, established in January 2025 after the dissolution of the Solicitor Department, aims to enhance government litigation management, monitor DAPS(T) and District Attorney offices, oversee budgets and audits, train law officers, and support legal advisory and development programs.
The six-phase rollout of the DME Project will make the system fully functional across Punjab by May 2026, starting with the Lahore Division (Pilot) and subsequently expanding to all other divisions, including Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Faisalabad, and Sargodha.
Representatives from PITB presented details of the AI-Based Litigation Management System, highlighting its features such as:
Law Officers’ profiling and performance management
• Mobile app for departments
• Analytical dashboards and reporting tools
• Alerts and notifications system
• Knowledge base for training and capacity building
• Media room and IT cell development
The system also integrates computerized case monitoring, biometric attendance, and CCTV/geo-tag-based tracking to ensure greater transparency and accountability.
Speaking at the event, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan commended the initiative as a landmark achievement for the Law Department. He stated that under CM Maryam Nawaz’s visionary leadership, the Punjab Government is committed to modernizing the legal and justice system through technology-driven reforms.
“This AI-powered system will revolutionize performance analysis, improve case tracking, and strengthen institutional efficiency. Through digital monitoring and data-driven governance, Punjab is moving towards a transparent, responsive, and technology-enabled legal framework,” said the Minister.
The Minister congratulated Secretary Law Asif Bilal Lodhi and his team for their dedication and praised the collaboration with PITB in developing this transformative system.
Officials including District Attorney Lahore, Law Officers, AD Shahid Jutt, and senior officers of the Law Department were also present at the ceremony.
