Institute to be Established in Memory of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th Martyrdom Anniversary

SGPC President Lays Foundation Stone of Gurmat Vidyala at Handiaaya Gurdwara Sahib

As part of the 350th martyrdom anniversary commemorations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami laid the foundation stone of a Gurmat Vidyala at Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvin, Handiaaya.

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Dhami said the institution, to be named after Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji, aims to prepare granthis, preachers, and scholars devoted to Gurmat studies and Sikh preaching. He announced that construction work on the Vidyala will commence soon to establish a significant centre for Sikh learning.

Dhami emphasized that the institute will play an important role in passing on Sikh heritage and values to future generations while promoting Gurmat education. He further informed that the seva (service) of construction has been entrusted to Baba Bachan Singh and Baba Mahinder Singh Kar Sewa Delhi wale.

The ceremony was attended by former SGPC President Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal, interim member S. Paramjit Singh Khalsa, S. Balbir Singh Ghunnas, Bhai Gurcharan Singh Garewal, S. Baldev Singh Choongha, S. Jagjit Singh Talwandi, Jathedar Gurlal Singh, Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhiasi, and several other SGPC members, religious leaders, and devotees.
